Something happened during Harper High School’s Homecoming celebration Friday night that had never happened before.
And no one in the audience seemed to mind one iota.
After John Stewart was crowned as Harper’s “king” of Homecoming 2017, the crowd went electric as everyone awaited the naming of the new Homecoming queen.
Following a couple of minutes of anticipation, the announcement came over the PA speaker that nothing like this had ever happened before at a Harper Homecoming — the voting was tied, leaving the school with two queens instead of the normal one.
Okay, but who were they, the new queens?
Brittany Schlueter AND Logan Menzies.
When the announcement was made, the audience gave its universal approval.
And as for Stewart, he must have felt like the luckiest man in the world as he posed for pictures with not one, but TWO queens.
Menzies and Schlueter are the daughters of George and Shanna Menzies, and Bobby and Estella Schlueter, respectively. Meanwhile, Stewart is the son of Mike and Naomi Stewart.
