Post player Jackson Abel scored 16 points to lead Heritage past First Baptist Academy.
Coach Clarence Stewart said the Eagles wanted to establish an inside presence to go with their perimeter shooting.
“The guys did a good job getting the ball to big man Jackson Abel,” he said. “I know our guys can fill it up from the outside, but there are going to be nights when shots are not falling and we are going to have to find a way to win.”
