Eisbahn skating rink opened for business last Friday. Everything was almost back to normal in the rink.
To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, Eisbahn limited the number of people in the rink to 33, added temperature checks and stocked common areas with hand sanitizer. They also plan to sell masks in the future.
The masks can be purchased on site for $6 and proceeds will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Boys and Girls Club of Fredericksburg.
The rink opened on Black Friday and will operate through Jan. 3, 2021. It will close on Christmas Eve and Day, according to Heritage School officials.
Tickets are $15 per day and include the skate rental. They will also offer $10 Tuesdays skating.
“We are limiting the number of people on the ice to 33,” said officials. “And anyone with a temperature greater than or equal to 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit will be asked to leave and not return until they have passed 72 hours with no fever.”
In October, the Fredericksburg City Council unanimously approved Heritage School’s COVID-19 protocols for opening its annual ice skating rink at the Kinder Halle on Marktplatz.
Part of the protocols are that face coverings are required to be worn by all employees, volunteers and individuals entering the premises. The face covering must cover the nose and mouth and is never to be removed or altered on the face. Exceptions will be if someone is incapacitated, unconscious, or is having difficulty breathing. Those who do not wear a face covering will be asked to leave.
Volunteers and patrons must maintain six feet of distance between others when possible.
Concession stands will be selling cold drinks and pre-packaged snacks only.
Skates will continue to be sanitized after every use, as usual. Tables and common surface areas will be cleaned and sanitized twice daily and
