Intoxicated individuals kept the Fredericksburg Police Department busy last week.
Officers arrested eight people for public insobriety, both public and while driving.
On Tuesday, March 23 an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at North Edison and West Travis streets. A field sobriety test was conducted on the male driver and female passenger and Andrew Wittmer Naser was arrested for driving while intoxicated and Nicole Stephanie Roethlisberger was arrested for public intoxication and both were transported to Gillespie County Jail.
The same day an officer was dispatched to 300 block of North Llano for a verbal disturbance between a woman and man. The officer was advised that a vehicle had left the scene, which was located later on the 200 block of East Travis. The officer had a hard time understanding the female driver and after speaking with her conducted a field sobriety test. As a result, Ashlie Rae Sly was arrested for driving while intoxicated and taken to jail.
Colten Lane Doerr was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to jail on Wednesday, March 24, after an officer was dispatched to Friendship Lane and Creek Street for a report of a reckless driver. On March 26 two people were arrested for driving while intoxicated and two for public intoxication in three separate reports.
A patrol sergeant was flagged down on the 300 block of North Llano regarding a man who had left in a truck while intoxicated. The truck was located on the 300 block of of Feller Lane and Wayne Oliver Staggs was arrested.
In the second report, an officer was dispatched to Glenmoor Drive and North Adams regarding a vehicle crash. Wyatt Vernon Williams was arrested for driving while intoxicated and the passenger Michelle Lee Williams was arrested for public intoxication.
The third incident happened on the 1100 block of South State Highway 16, where an officer was dispatched regarding a man who was stumbling and had fallen a couple of times. Anthony Keller Devere was arrested for public intoxication.
On Saturday, March 28, a patrol sergeant was dispatched to the 2200 South State Highway 16 regarding a man acting strange. When he arrived on scene, another officer was speaking with the man and Javier Huerta-Dominguez was arrested for public intoxication.
Thefts
Police officers responded to a theft of a bird bath, trailer and identity last week.
On Tuesday, March 23, a complainant told police they had a bird bath stolen from their yard and wanted to make a report. The next day on March 24, police investigated the theft of a trailer but after speaking to both parties it was determined no theft occurred. Friday, March 26 a complainant told police they received a letter in the mail about an account they had opened through Chase Bank and wanted to make a report.
Fraud
Two frauds were investigated on Thursday, March 25 and Saturday, March 27.
In the first report, a complainant told police someone had filed for unemployment under the complainant’s name, who provided the name of a possible suspect. The case will be forwarded to Criminal Investigation Division (CID) for further investigation.
The second report of fraud involved the internet. A complainant told an officer they had applied for a loan through Credit Karma website and provided banking and personal information. Money was put into the complainant’s account and an unknown suspect asked the complainant to exchange it for a prepaid debit card. The officer advised the complainant to notify their bank and other institutions and gave them a case number.
Burglary On March 24, an officer was dispatched to
On March 24, an officer was dispatched to 735 South Washington for a burglary. The case will be forwarded to CID for investigation.
Warrants
Patrol officers were dispatched to three different addresses for a warrant service.
On Monday, March 22, an off-duty police officer advised a patrol officer of seeing a subject, who had an active warrant. Miguel Angel Romero was located and arrested for the warrant and transported to jail.
On Wednesday, March 24 patrol officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of North Milam and 600 block of North Bowie for two warrant services. At the first address Hephzibah Ortiz was arrested for a warrant and transported to jail and at the second location Kenneth James Cooper was placed under arrest for an out-of-county warrant and transported to jail.
The final warrant service arrest was made Friday, March 26 on the 400 block of Plum Street. An officer was dispatched to the address for a disturbance and Ramiro Leonel Delatorre Jr. was arrested and transported to jail.
