The Fredericksburg Tea Party will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Aug. 12, at St. Joseph’s Halle, 212 W. San Antonio St.
A light meal begins at 6 p.m., followed by the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
Featured at the meeting will be Focus 4 Action groups. The groups were established a little over a year ago to provide membership the opportunity to direct their efforts in specific areas.
Those areas include border security, headed up by Dave Heckert; city and county issues, headed up by George Studor; election integrity, headed up by Jeannette Hormuth; faith and family, headed up by pastor Mike Burdick; gun rights, headed up by Mike Belsick; and sanctity of life, headed up by Joe Murphy.
Each group has set up criteria for organizing and disseminating information relevant to their area.
Focus 4 Action group participants traveled to Austin in the last legislative session. They visited legislators to express their group’s interest in bills being considered. That included such activities as testifying before committees considering specific legislation, presenting legislators with the group’s collective expertise and delivering letters and other documents to all members of the Texas House or Senate.
The event is free, but donations are accepted. For more, visit fredericksburgteaparty.org.
