50 YEARS AGO in the Standard

JANUARY 24, 1973 Former President Lyndon B. Johnson, 36th president of the United States, and a resident of Stonewall, died Monday afternoon, Jan. 22, 1973. After the former president suffered an apparent heart attack at the LBJ Ranch, he was flown to San Antonio to Brooke Army Medical Center for treatment.
