Statewide jobless rate still below 4%

In December 2022, Texas added 29,500 positions, reports the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), and the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined for the first time in three months to 3.9% in December. Gillespie County’s jobless rate was just 2.1%, far below the state average, with 310 unemployed
