Firecracker Futurity runs Saturday at Gillespie Downs

Twenty races were run on Saturday and Sunday at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds as the GCFA’s 2023 horse racing began. As a part of the July 4th Horse Racing, the GCFA Firecracker Futurity Trials took place on Saturday.

A total of 4,167 fans wagered $379,765 on Saturday and Sunday. Of the wagering handle, $297,812 was paid out to bettors.

On Saturday, 2,340 fans wagered $204,924. The payout was $161,118.

Then, on Sunday, 1,827 fans wagered $174,841 with a payout of $136,694.
