City eyes a people-first management strategy
This is being written before the city council actually votes on its tax rate on Tuesday morning (our press time is 9 a.m. Tuesday for the section you are reading). But suffice it to say, we trust the council and the city’s administration to make decisions on its management.
Bottom line is, the city taxpayers will see a 7.5% reduction in the tax rate to 18.1 cents from the current 19.6 cents. As housing valuations continue to push taxes upward, there will be a slight increase in what is paid —...
