SINGEN
Two local German choirs performed for their annual Herbstfest Saturday, Oct. 28 at the St. Mary’s Holy Family Center. The men’s choir, Arion Männerchor, and mixed choir, Hermannsöhne Gemischter Chor, shared German folk songs, under the direction of Amy Voorhees, that settlers sang 150 years ago. Front row, from left, are Jim Franer, Larry Ottmers, Franz Dieter Kemper, Larry Kuhlken (seated), Margaret Solbrig, Bob Walch, Carol Woitalla, Alice Hahn, Chris Davis and Regina Rosenwinkle; back row, Heinrich Boenig, Bryan Bierschwale, Vernon Treibs, Dana Overdorf, Jim Wilhite, Violet Ottmers and Aleksandra Gant. — Standard-Radio Post/Lauren Elizabeth Shults
