Agency confusion leads to letter box kerfuffle

It seems government agencies are stirring up a yellow jacket nest by playing musical chairs with the mailboxes of Gillespie County residents.

The relocation of some letterboxes started in 2023, after the Texas Department of Transportation sent a memo July 28, 2022, to its district engineers to provide policy related to mailbox installations and neighborhood collection box units due to safety concerns.
