T-bone popularity grew along with grilling
We didn’t often have steak in the immediate post World War II years. Even in the mid-1950s, once in a while, we had a round or 7-bone steak, the cheaper cuts, but never a T-bone. In 1954, T-bones were selling for $1 a pound — that’s $11.36 in today’s dollars. H-E-B sells them today for $11.43.
