The Gillespie 4-H Robotics Project wrapped up its fall program on Thursday, Oct. 24, with an in-house competition at the Gillespie County Extension Office.
Stanton Cantwell won first place in a competition that included two three-minute matches of programming a robot to accomplish tasks on a game field.
Cooper Crane took second and Lula Smith was the third-place finisher. Ivan Shockley, Mia Chevalier and Cade Durst rounded out the competition.
All students had missions to send a magnet to a docking station, deliver a farming module, deposit and stack seedling containers and place growing mediums into containers on the field.
The six 4-Her’s learned what it would take to survive on the moon in the seven- week class that taught them how to construct and program a robot.
