Lamb is an overlooked meat in the U.S.
My dad was German. While his dad owned land, it was not much, and he was no farmer, he was an innkeeper. My grandmother, on the other hand, grew up on a farm called the Buhlhof and was used to farmwork. Once married to my grandfather, she found herself doing his farm work while also preparing meals for guests at their Gasthaus zum Löwen. My dad was not attuned to farmwork either — he hated it and as a child was often punished when found reading instead of doing his chores.
