With shelter, stray pet situation has improved
Seven years ago, in November of 2017, the Fredericksburg Animal Shelter held a ribbon cutting at its new facility at 319 Hollmig Lane. The shelter was a result of an intense, years-long effort to build a new shelter to replace the aging and substandard building located at the city landfill. That building had long outlived its usefulness and the animals housed there, and staff that worked there, deserved far better.
