To start off the New Year, Gillespie County will hold a swearing-in ceremony for three newly elected officials on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
This will occur at the Gillespie County Courthouse, 101 West Main Street, at 10 a.m.
Officials to be sworn in for the county for the first time include Chris Ayala, sheriff; Carol Rode Durst, tax assessor, and Charles (Chuck) Jenschke, commissioner, Pct. 3.
Other county officials continuing to serve and who will be sworn in again include Christopher G. Nevins, judge, county court at law; Charles Olfers, commissioner, Pct. 1, and Vicki Schmidt, treasurer.
