Sarah Hilburn, a member of the Hill Country Master Naturalists, talks about monarch larva monitoring to a crowd of about 60 persons at Saturday’s “Monarch Butterfly Monitoring and Migration” workshop at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Building. A room full of Texas Master Naturalists and nature enthusiasts heard talks from Cathy Downs, Barb Jansen, Carla Stang and Hilburn. Hilburn spoke on collecting data collecting and entry to monitor monarch butterfly numbers. Attendees also learned about the proposed Fredericksburg Nature Center building at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park, spearheaded by the Friends of the Fredericksburg Nature Center group.
